The museum consists of two tavern buildings made famous in the 18th century by tavern keeper John Gadsby. The taverns were a center of political, business and social life in early Alexandria. Famous patrons include George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Featured Exhibits: The Museum is featuring an photographic exhibit of Gum Springs' residents and founding families. Many of these photos are close to 100 years old, some older.
